Manchester City striker Álvaro Negredo has been ruled out for up to three months with a fractured metatarsal he picked up in the friendly win over Hearts on Friday.
The Spain international was forced to limp off before half-time of the match at Tynecastle, which City won 2-1. Negredo was taken for tests over the weekend but confirmed on his Instagram account that he will miss a significant portion of the new season having fractured his fifth metatarsal bone.
“I want to let you know that its going to be hard for the next few months, I fractured my 5th metatarsal and will be out a few months. I will be back stronger than ever,” he wrote.
